I went to pick up some Korean groceries a few weeks ago, was hungry and decided to eat at their food court. My gf and I ordered their sashim combo (16 pieces for about $17) and their bbq beef (around $14). The sashim came in fairly thick slices and I remember correctly, there was some salmon, yellowtail, waluwalu, and maybe halibut and tuna.
Even though the price was cheap and some of the fish tasted good, certain types of fish tasted...well...there was no "taste" to it. I don't know if it was sitting there in the fridge too long, presliced too long, or the quality of the fish was a 'lower" grade...you just do get thing ooohh ahhhh taste when you put it in your mouth. Maybe because the slices werealso too cold and that blocked out some of the taste.
Skip the bbq, can do better at the Tofu House on geary and 11th.
Some Korean patrons ordered what looked like a sashimi salad, or Poke salad, and some soup/noodles. Maybe those would be a better bet.
