I have a special fondness for KL-style curry noodles - all sorts of them: seafood curry noodles, wanton curry noodles, curry laksa noodles. So it was a great pleasure to be introduced to yet another smashing curry noodle spot today.
Ah Loy at the mainly-Chinese housing estate, Overseas Union Garden, offers 3 types of curry noodles: seafood, pork-rib or chicken. I chose the chicken version, which came in a delicious curry soup - I could only detect a faint hint of coconut milk, with very piquant Indian curry powder aroma. The Hokkien egg noodles were soft and tasty, whilst the sweet, blanched beansprouts provided a nice crunchy textural contrast. There were also flat strips of spongey pig-skin (blanched, air-dried, fried till puffed up, then blanched before being added to the curry).
We also order a plate of "yong tau fu" to accompany the curried noodles.
