Korean ice creme bar - Cornie Konacao

HLing | Aug 18, 200708:56 PM

I was hoping to find some Korean and or Vietnamese corn on the cob in Manhattan's korean town. I found them both at H supermarket in the frozen section. Not only that I also found these delicious ice cream bar/sandwich that's irresistible and easy to eat. There were no English on the package, but the picture of the yellow corn on the cob is bright and hard to miss.

(scroll down a little. It's on the right)

They look like a regular sized corn on the cob. The soft cone is made in the mode of 2 halves of corn on the cob, in the middle is the ice creme with a thin layer of chocolate. There are little nibbly bits of the Korean glutinous corn in the ice cream. The best thing about this, besides being cute and tasty, is that you can eat the whole cob without the dripping mess that a slow ice cream eater always encounters.

It's for those of us who like corn in our shaved ice.....

As for the original intent of this search for the toothsome Korean and Vietnamese corn (I'm glad that I don't have to go all the way to Flushing to get this any more) the frozen corn on the cob were quite good grilled with a cast iron pot. I'll be using this for elotes when fresh corn is out of season.
