Korean BBQ question

Bruin2 | May 18, 200607:13 PM

We are neophytes when it comes to Korean bbq. We've eaten at Soot Bull Jeep and couldn't enjoy the food because it was too smokey, and ate at the Woo Lae Oak on La Cienaga but felt it was not really authentic (yes, I know, the smoke is part of what makes it authentic). So tomorrow night we're ready to try again. We've narrowed it down to Chosun Galbi or Dong Il Jang. We're primarily interested in the bbq and all the little side dishes. I'd like to try some other dishes as well though. I've read some old Chowhound reports on each but nothing really current (that I could find).Thoughts as between the two, and particular recommendations of dishes at each would be greatly appreciated. Is one noticeably more expensive than the other?? Thanks so much for your help.
