one last knish in brooklyn

THE last "Coney Island"- style knish will soon roll out of Gabila's Knish Factory, a Brooklyn institution that's just been sold off to make way for a new apartment building.

The knish plant is part of a two-part development site facing sides of South 8th Street in Williamsburg where Gabila's has been turning out knishes since 1921.

Developers Old Fulton Landing LLC paid $6.85 million for the sites, which can support 67,014 square feet of apartments. The existing buildings will be torn down.
