Wife is away, taking the kids out alot.
Breakfast at Betty's during the week, a wait of 20 minutes if you don't want the counter. Really good eggs,(poached, over easy or scrambled) Yummy potatoes and onions and chicken sausage, though the sausages have been overcooked almost burnt on two separate occasions. Not burnt all the way through, so still tasty. Overcooked sausage not withstanding still a world class good breakfast. Nice friendly service, ample delicious coffee.
FatApples no wait, food came out warm but not hot. My kids liked it, but I thought it was too cool. It must have sat under the lights for awhile. My whole wheat pancakes were really good with maple syrup. Also good coffee, friendly service.
Gelato place on fourth street next to Betty's. I don't remember the name. Really good, nice people running it. Delicious lemon verbena granita and good chocolate. Obviously a labor of love. Went to naia the next night, good espresso and chocolate and bacio, but a much different more big city vibe.
Kirala sunday night. A 30 minute wait for four at 5:45!
Great service, ordered in a disjointed fashion, the waitress served everything perfectly. Things I remember included a really good mixed green salad, oishitashi simple but good, unremarkable cuke salad. Good gyoza, crisp tempura appetizer, good lamb chops (two little ones) good robato scallops, mushrooms, yellowtail collar, sushi dinner with two salmon roe (yuck) muck better to order sushi a la carte, but with kids was just too hurried for a leisurly sushi dinner. Very nice sake collection. A nice experience if you don't mind the wait.
