kane's diner in flushing, queens

drove by this a few weeks ago and went this past saturday morning. this is a free-standing red bricked diner restaurnat with connected free parking lot. went in and looks a lot like your local greasy spoon. but then the menus came and these menus were evidently made with care. it is basically a collage menu where the person took pictures of all his dishes, laid them out, put prices on them and also freely put in pictures of female and male models, including women in bikinis, mike piazza and other famous stars. made for interesting reading. the restaurant itself is festooned with autographed photos of all these stars. the prices are very reasonable, like $6.99 for a cheeseburger deluxe made with two beef patties. they are open 24 hours. the house brewed iced tea was overbrewed. the breakfasts are pretty oily and artery-clogging. mixed clientele. looked like some folks were dining before heading to the us open. it is called kane's diner and is on college pt blvd, across the street from the parking lot for the western beef diner, about half a mile from the college pt blvd exit of the van wyck.
