John Campbell Irish Bakery, SF report & pics

After Bay to Breakers we were hungry so I suggested John Campbell's Irish Bakery. It's someplace I've been wanting to try and it's in the Richmond neighborhood where we were anyways.

It's a small bakery with no seating area. It's a take-out place.

I picked out:
Belfast bap: Irish bacon, Irish sausage, scrambled egg & cheddar cheese all in a bap $5. Like a egg mac muffin, but better. I liked the sausage the best. Bread & everything else was fine.

Beef pastie $4.5: it's huge! We got one & shared it. Ground beef mixed w/ peas, carrots, onions, & a gravy sauce in a flaky puff pastry.

Also got a loaf of Irish brown bread $5. It's a round loaf that tasted very salty & like cornbread. Dry & crumbly. Just ok for me, husband liked it.

My total $14.50. CASH ONLY.

Lady that helped me was very nice, and asked if we wanted the food heated - we did for the first 2 items.

We ate the food at the Blarney Stone Pub that's next door - heard they own it too.

Sun-Sat 7am-8pm
