Had a nice late dinner last night and while we had soup dumplings, they were by no means the highlight of the meal. The three entrees were great. We had snow pea shoots, pork shoulder and pan fried noodles with pork. The pork shoulder was as good a pork shoulder as I have ever had. It was like pulled pork before it has been pulled, with a layer of delicious fat around it. The fried noodles were crisp and delicious, and the pea shoots were a real surprise because vegetable dishes in most of the chinatown restaurants I go to are rarely more than dishes I order to alleviate the guilt I feel for consuming such large quantities of meat. This was delicious.
Anyway, Joe's Shanghai is more than soup dumplings.
