Joe V's

Hey guys,

I'm consistently checking this site and asking for advice so I thought I'd share one of my latest dining out ventures.

Went to Joe V's (new spot where On The Park used to be) New Year's Eve, for a quick bite before heading to a party. Had an unxpectedly good meal. I ordered the chicken parm. Hefty portion of a lightly breaded breast w/ a chunky tomato sauce and ziti, with melted mozzerella. Hit the spot and not insanely pricey at somewhere around 12 bucks. My friend had the shrimp scampi w. linguine - - a special that night, running a bit more expensive at $17. However, it again hit the spot. Perfectly prepared. The pasta al dente, a flavorful scampi sauce perfectly balanced; just the right amount of jumbo shrimp.

They had two bottled wine specials that night, red & white....The red was a Spanish red; a Rioja, for $15. Can't beat that, I thought, so we tried it, and it was definitely a good value.

It's rare to find a restaurant where you can get dinner for two with a bottle of wine, in the S.E. for under $50, but we found it.

Service was efficient and friendly; lights are a bit bright in there (that's pretty much my only complaint, and believe me, I can definitely find things to complain about.)

I think Joe V's fills a nice void in my neighborhood, a casual spot to grab some dinner...w/good food, service and value.

Has anyone else checked it out? I'm curious to see if other's experiences have been similar...
