Jerk chicken in Crown Heights

JackS | Aug 12, 2003 03:30 PM

Based on a long-ago recommendation from this Board, I've tried the jerk chicken at MacKenzie's in search of the city's best (sorry, but I hadn't been impressed with Danny & Pepper, the winner of the jerk-off) a couple of times and went back this weekend. It's on Utica in between Carroll and Crown. It's terrific; the can they seem to cook it in is out front and it tastes like the chicken has been marinated all night in the spicy jerk sauce. The only drawback is that it's strictly take-out, so I had to eat it while walking down the street, which is not easy (I have taken it on the subway home, but it tastes so good fresh out of the place)!
