Having studied at Chowhound U and doing some field work in the subject of Bahn Mi over the past month, here's my opinion ...
This small shop places 4th out of the five places I've tried. It is at 885 Bush between Taylor and Mason.
I had BBQ'd chicken. Lots of meat, so it was more expensive than most (2.75). Plenty of carrot and cucumber, but the jalepeno seemed to be missing and there was not enough cilantro (I can't believe I'm saying that. A month ago I hated cilantro). It was on a french roll that was toasted in a toaster oven. The big problem was absolutely no spice or zing. The only BBQ was in the name. However, given the location, proabably the best bet for a sandwich in that area.
Lots of Vietnamese dishes. Mostly take out. You place your order and stand in the street to wait for it. Maybe 2 people fit in the place. Two tables on the sidewalk.
Some tapioca desserts that looked tired.
Didn't try them but they have 22 flavors of Tapioca pearl Drinks. Oh wait, they had jackfruit Boba. I missed it. Darn, darn, darn, darn.
My list to date:
Sugar Bowl Daily City
Ambrosia Bakery on California
