Any JAX Foodies out there?

I'm new to Jacksonville, by way of London, Los Angeles and New York. So you could say I've been spoiled by fantastic food options my entire life. Jacksonville is challenging, to say the least, but where I live in Ponte Vedra Beach is a veritable wasteland for ethnic food. There are a few good restaurants (11 South, Medure, Valley Smoke, V Pizza) but precious few passable Asian, Latin or other ethnic restaurants. I will travel for decent Vietnamese (Bit of Saigon, Bowl of Pho on Old Bayswater) and I've finally found a solid Chinese restaurant w/ very good dim sum and excellent dinner options with a heavy seafood emphasis. But where are the Japanese, Szechuan, authentic Mexican and Middle Eastern restaurants? My favorite Peruvian place, Ceviche JAX (I know, horrible name but great food) recently closed.

If there are others in the area who would like to start a discussion about Jacksonville area restaurants, please answer here. A quick review of Chowhound shows nothing interesting for many years.

I am also an avid wine collector/drinker so any places that allow BYOB should also be noted.
