Jade Dynasty Dim Sum review

Hey Yum Cha addicts!

I came down with a cold last night so today I was craving comfort food and tea. I power walked from work to get to Jade Dynasty in Chinatown (137 E Pender) as I’ve been dying to try it out - I’ve read so many positive reviews on

I gotta say this placed was packed for a reason. I came around 12:45 and Dim Sum was still in full swing. Even tho I was alone I got seated at my own table within minutes. Restaurant is clean and even REAL tablecloths on the tables.

I didn’t order lots as I was alone and in a hurry but the Shu Mai, Char Siu Bao and the Shanghai dumplings I ordered came in less than 15 minutes, piping hot! Service was friendly and attentive (no carts). Everything I asked for (ice water, chili sauce etc.) came promptly. One of the best things was that I was given a WHOLE bottle of the pink vinegar, so I could pour it on the Shu Mai to my hearts content.

Prices were reasonable as well, 3 orders, tea, tax and tip came to 13.00. From the time I arrived to the time I left the restaurant only 40 minutes elapsed. These folks obviously have service down pat, both front and back of the house.

I plan to go back with a troupe of friends on the week end to try more :)
