I know a lot of people are starting to think Jacques-Imo's is overrated because of the excessive waits. I suggest we stop telling people about it? Let's just send all the tourists to Arnaud's, Antoine's and Commander's Palace... what do ya'll say?
Anyway, all kidding aside, we went to Jacques-Imo's last night with an impromptu party of six after a wine tasting. We DID have to wait, but it was only about an hour not two as the host originally told us. Jacques came out to say hi and brought us a bottle of wine (we were outside leaning against the "Jacques-Imobile"). It was fine. We were finally seated and proceeded to have a great meal with friendly, pleasant service. I had scallops with poached pears and sweet potatos and beets. Yummm-o!
The whole experience was lovely!
So, who agrees that Jacques-Imo's has still "got game" and who is convinced that it's overrrated? How about an informal poll?
