Jackson Fillmore in San Francisco

Rachelhope | Aug 20, 199802:11 AM

Just came back from meal (taken out by uncle) at
Jackson Fillmore, an Italian joint (not fancy at all)
in Pacific Heights and the food was fantastico!!! High
recommendations.

We started by splitting a grilled portabello mushroom
which was saturated with wonderful olive oil and
accompanied by fried thyme? and wilted baby greens.
The sort of thing which has been done wrong so many
times and tonight was simply fantastic. Bruschetta was
on the house, also had a simple green salad.

Then onto entrees. For me: the orechiette d'elefanto
(elephant ears) which was more or less schnitzel topped
with a wild array of fresh cut perfectly ripe heirloom
tomatoes, fresh tarragon and dabs of gorgonzola cheese.
It was so good that I ate every last bite, for which I
now feel deeply regretful. The boy had tubular pasta
with spicy veal sausage and tomato (one bite confirmed
that it was very tasty). The uncle, a vegetarian had a
nice looking porcini mushroom pasta.

Finally to top it off, a rich rummy yummy tiramisu.

BTW had cheeseboard pizza for lunch, while not real
pizza (come on, I was born and bred in NYC) it was
delish.

Ciao
