Renovation is being done on a storefront right by the Muddy Waters Coffee shop on Vanderbilt Avenue and Park Place. I spoke with the owner who comes from Central Italy. He is very interesting and a big fan of Chowhound and Jim Leff. He is also very involved in the Slow Foods Movement. Good Signs Indeed. He stated that he would be serving, "Italian Soul Food" and was even thinking about growing his own produce at an upstate farm. I have high hopes for this restaurant and believe it really could be something special. They will be opening in mid October.
