Italian Prune Plums - Where are they this Year? (2016)

boratini | Sep 14, 201610:17 AM     1

Every August in the last 16 years - I start looking and asking if the Prune plums are in yet? It seems a religiously seasonal act - but their season is notoriously short. This is the first year that I completely missed it- my grocer told me he had them for less than 2 weeks in early august. Was there a natural disaster in the region these come from? I am so sad to have missed it this year. Does anyone know of an online merchant who ships these? I am told the season can go into early October - I'm keeping my fingers crossed.
