There may have already been "healthy discussion" of this quetion but I'm interested in the Board's thoughts on the best Italian trattorias in the Pasadena area. I'm being furloughed by my wife birthday from low-carburgatory, and found myself out of sorts in trying to come up with _the best_ place. In water cooler discussions, Celestino has been advanced. The oft-maligned Ms. Verbila went on about Tre Venezie. To my knowledge, Mr. Gold hasn't yet weighed in (beyond Casa Bianca, which I love along with most of his suggestions) for points eastward. There's supposed to be a place with two branches, one in San Marino and one in Pasadena; I've fazed on the names. Over the years, I've visited and been under-impressed with the workhorses: Mi Piace, Cafe Santorini, Il Fornaio, etc. I like Far Niente but wouldn't call it amazing like some of the places I get expensed at in Hollywood (I agree with the Board's and seemingly everyone else's adulation of Angelini Osteria). Thank you in advance, I appreciate your thoughts.
