ISO Fried/Roasted Crab--or the Best Darn Crab in the Bay Area

Crab season can't come too soon! I need a fix even before the first local crab boat gets in, and I'm feeling nostalgic for the crab Thanh Long USED to serve long, long ago (say a quarter century?). . . I stopped going to Thanh Long years ago, when the crab started coming in mis-matched pieces and tasting like freezer.

Is there any place in the Bay Area that serves crab comparable to the old Thanh Long?

And, though the style is different, is the salt and pepper (+garlic+chili) crab at R&G Lounge still as good as it was 2-3 years ago? In the past year, I've had very good versions at Zen Peninsula in Millbrae and Joy Luck San Mateo.

Is there a better crab dish to be had anywhere in the Bay Area?
