ISO Banh Tom (shrimp cakes) in LA

Tru like tru dat | Jun 14, 2005 07:24 PM

Managed to make it out to Little Saigon for the first time in a year on my way back from SD and had some banh tom or crispy shrimp cakes and am currently wondering where I can get a fix for future cravings.

I doubt there is anything decent westside (but I would love to be surprised)so I'm willing to put up with heading east, but I really can't do the 40 miles to get to Little Saigon everytime I have a craving. Not driving blows.

Also any other recs for anyother types of banh dishes(excluding banh mi since that seems pretty well covered on the board) would be appreciated

Below is my last shrimp cake. Some shrimp cakes don't feature the whole shrimp (legs, head, antenna, etc), but besides great presentation I think the whole shrimp makes for better taste and adds a bit of crunchiness that is delightful, It is accompanied by seasoned salt.
