Can I make induction work in my kitchen?

Our home is only two years old, so I wasn't thinking of any kitchen remodeling until my husband dropped a heavy can on my ceramic cooktop and ruined it. It is a GE Profile with downdraft fan that I never really cared for and is already pretty scratched up with gentle use. In my research, I've become very interested in either an induction range or cooktop. But I can't find any with downdraft exhaust fans and there would no room behind the cooktop for a pop-up blower (it is on a wall, not an island.) I'm not sure how expensive it would be to try to add a hood over top, as I have cabinetry above and still about 3 feet open to a sloped ceiling. Does anyone have suggestions on how I can proceed from here?
