Hi, all. This summer I "pickled" some plums and peaches in a spiced vinegar syrup. It's delicious! It's so delicious I don't want to pour the syrup down the drain after eating the fruit. Other than drizzling it over vanilla ice cream, any ideas? I'm not a huge baker, but I'm imagining using it the way you use rum in a cake, like soaking it? It's sweet-tart, I think too sweet to use as a marinade, but maybe for barbecued pork ribs, adding ___ to it? Besides apple cider vinegar and sucanat (brown sugar), the syrup was flavored with ginger, cinammon, cloves, nutmeg, crushed red pepper, mustard seeds, I don't remember what else. It's thick and strong. Ideas, anyone?
