Where's new and iconic Montreal?

aweseeka | May 24, 201504:51 PM     5

Hi fellow foodies! I used to live in Montreal and now live in BC. I'm home for a visit, and my boyfriend will be joining me next week, he's never been to Mtl. I want to take him out to one iconic Montreal nice rest (not fine cuisine price, under that hopefully but romantic and emphasis on food not scene) - (how I see Montreal iconic: ballsy chefs blending Mediterranean influences with market cuisine). But I also don't want to go to the old classics I've been to necessarily (APDC, Joe Beef, Club de Chasse & Peche) What do you recommend? Also, where is a great place for the Montreal terrace & good food experience with good people watching? Finally, top picks for brunch? (I have been reading on forums here, but getting overwhelmed with options and leads to follow)
