Huntley, IL - Papa G's

I decided that I would break my weekly rut of returning to the same restaurant every night. As I am not willing to head all the way into the city or fight the traffic into Schaumburg, I have been trying different McHenry Co. restaurants with some very mixed results.

Papa G's is located on IL-47 approximately 1.5 miles north of I-90. The place is your typical Greek style restaurant with an assortment of steaks, chops, and Greek specialties along with sandwiches and salads with most entrees in the $6-12 range.

You will not find anything very exotic on the menu. The service was quite good and attentive and the food was quite good. Portion are very large - 2 - 6oz center cut pork chops served with about a pound of greek potatoes.

I thought that the food was a pretty good value. The place is a lot better than the Village Inn, which is Huntley's other family restaurant.

Del Toro's Grill in Huntley is next AFTER they get done with their Cinco de Mayo celebration (which seems to me a much bigger deal in teh US than it is in Mexico.
