My final stop before leaving Lodi was the Velvet Grill & Creamery to try the housemade ice cream I'd read about. I tasted the peppermint and mocha almond fudge flavors before choosing. The ice cream's made in small batches to be dense and very creamy with strong flavors. After judging barbecue and ingesting way too much meat all day, I was happy to see that it offers an itty bitty size scoop for only $2. That amount of mocha almond fudge ice cream was just enough caffeine to get me home.
