Help with Host(ess) Sweet Treat

Foodie2 | Mar 2, 2006 02:58 PM

I've got flour, sugar (all kinds - white, brown, powdered), 2 sticks butter, veg oil, eggs (up the wazoo), vanilla, a block of caillebaut semi-sweet, 1/2 box unsweetened chocolate, walnuts, slivered almonds, cocoa powder, instant espresso, baking powder and soda, orange juice, 4-5 lemons, and a hand mixer. I need to make something that is going to be delicious (no experiments) to bring to someone's house tonight. I'll have approximately 2 hours to prep and bake -- and NO time to pick up other ingredients. I'm contemplating the vanilla cake that wyf4lyf posted a while back, but I'm not sure that that's got the oomph and presentation that we're going for in this situation... Need something that transports on a lap fairly well, is quick and easy, and ALWAYS delicious. Anyone? Anyone? (I have no preference re: cookies vs. cake vs. anything else) None of my tried and true recipes use the ingredients above exclusively; I turn to your tried-and-true recipes for help.
