I wanted to go and try once again Minh's to give it another try... sadly they close 3-5pm (i didnt do any research I just wanted to eat with a friend in Courhouse area.
It was closed and it was so cold and windy that we just stepped inside of the closest asian place and that was Archa Thai...
(I knew I should have gone to Rays the Steaks) but we just didn't to walk a block more lol.
To keep it short.
I ordered Tom Yum Soup.... good flavour, but too much salt, overcooked shrimps... the lemmongrass you could get just a hint, the salt was that much. $4.50
My friend ordered Nua Archa (marinated beef overnight quickly stir-fried on a high heat platter, served with steamed veggie and topped with fresh ginger and scallion)..... it was ok, i mean it was just like when you order beef and broccoli... the sauce of the marinating though had a good flavour... 13.99
For entree I had a Duck Kapow (crispy dick sitr-fried with red, green bell pepper, onion, pineapple chunks in spicy chili basil sauce). So salty, so sad, I am not used to Duck but is the first time I actually have it and 1 hour later is still heavy in my stomach, so greasy, i was hoping i was going to find "the" pineapple at some point to refresh the saltyness of the dish... 12.99
I know for 2 people under $40 it't not bad, but that place is nothing special, so i would rather go for tacos to El Charrito Caminante less than $14 and decent tacos... I would even rather go to Cafe Asia, no matter how many people hate it.. at least i never get over salted food...
I am very sad that it was the last meal of my night until tomorrow... the food was so salty i actually stopped by CVS to get some chocolate.. (no that i need that much excuse to get chocolate if you know what i mean.. lol).
I feel better after letting all this out...
Now good night and just dream about that pineapple turnover im baking tomorrow morning.
