When visiting family in Ohio last year, I came across Honeycrisp apples, which are undeniably the best apple I've tasted in a long time. It was right off the farm, somewhere in central Ohio, from somewhere of my youth. Anyway, it was delish. Back in LA, I couldn't stop raving about them to a friend, who found them at the SM famers market, but it was the size of a crab apple. The apple I had was the size of a grapefruit. THAT's what I'm looking for.
They're in season now, and I can order online, but I wonder if anyone has come across them at their local farmers market. I haven't at mine, but this is an apple I'll travel for. Thanks in advance.
