some of my coworkers complain that we go to the same place every year, so i'm in charge of suggesting some alternatives....
here's what we are looking for:
--good variety of food (we have our basic meat and potatoes guy to the 'try anything once' guy)
--separate or private area preferred because we will be rowdy
--casual enough because we will be roasted and toasted :)
--open during the afternoon, our party is usually scheduled at 2 pm and runs until about 6
--not UES or too far east (most of our group commutes from port authority or penn station)
--under $90 a person, after tax/tip/etc
some of the places that i was thinking about:
--blue ribbon bakery (although 12 is a tight squeeze for their downstairs dining area)
typically we go to cafe espanol (on bleecker) because they meet all of the criteria listed above; in addition, they have that back garden, which is nice for the cigar smoking we may do after dinner.
i am curious to see if there are other places i've missed. thanks for your suggestions!
