All things hoisin

I am in culinary school and have to do my term paper on hoisin sauce (very different than my first undergraduate degree where I did my thesis on Victorian prison design...). I am having a challenge getting substantial reference materials, and need help!

I have to write 3-5 pages (so I need to get books that really go deep, not just a three sentence encyclopedia entry), but could definitely rant on for filler (about chinese cooking in general) if needed.

Looking for sources that detail:
--all of the ingredients (so far, I have gotten "garlic, soybeans, chiles and various spices" but I do need to list these "various spices"), and a brief history of each and how they ended up there
--the origin, country, culture, history and any significant background.
--present one really great, killer recipe that is healthy and delicious.

If you can direct me to some sources (online or print) that offer a lot of information and detail, I would be much oblidged. (Also, if you just happen to know stuff, I promise to cite you properly)

Think about the guy that has to do his paper on curry (he has to research all 36 individual spices)...
