Had a lovely dinner on Friday with and wanted to share some photos. I'll let others chime in: I was actually so busy chatting that I was a bad Chowhound and don't remember all the correct names for the dishes, so maybe someone will help me out!

My general feeling was that the appetizers were amazing. The pumpkin that everyone raves about lived up to hype, and the two ravioli/dumpling dishes we had were both unique and delicious.

Their entrees are just okay, fine but not unique, and some of them start tasting the same after awhile. Not a problem if each person gets his/her entree and sticks to it, but not very exciting for sharing. If I ever go back to Helmand, I'm exploring the appetizer menu more and leaving the entrees alone.

Service was friendly if slow, and the room is quite lovely. I was expecting more of a no frills neighborhood restaurant based on the tiny unadorned front door, but you actually have to go around a corner to get to the dining room, which is well appointed in a quiet charming way.

The photo below is what was probably my favorite dish of the evening: appetizer dumplings with meat and yogurt sauces.
