Heavy Extra Heavy SS Bowls

mobiledynamics | Jun 27, 201903:56 PM     4

I took a break from the forums due to F&F. I got a email on a thread I responded to earlier so I came back to the forums to respond back to that reply. Then I started getting moderated for some unbeknownst reason. This might be my last thread for awhile so lemme hear it

Who makes nice heavy SS prep/mixing bowls. I have a stash of old SS mades that are stamped made in the USA and a small stash of Rosle Made in Germany Bowls that are nice and heavy.

In light of Hwashingtons recent heavy handle thread, this has spurned my inquiry on the subject at hand. Does anyone make good heavy SS bowls these days. I have bought a few brands over the years, even the Rosle ones (which are now made in PRC), and for sure, they just don't make the like they used to. EVERY bowl I've purchased in the last 5-7 years feels cheap. Take a spoon or whisk and metal to metal, the interior will show markings. I'm not a SS grade guru - 18/10, 18/8, etc but every bowl I have purchased is easily marked like a clean jet black car . Just look at it wrong and it scuffs. I've never even broke out the gauge to even measure the thickness as they were all sent back for refund. It's just not the gauge but the ~hardness~ of the bowl

Does any manuf. make good bowls these days.
