Ever heard of "Allegretti cake"? (a.k.a., Allegretti chiffon cake)

Bec215 | Feb 8, 201509:46 AM     10

My grandmother made this cake at least since the 50's... it's a yellow cake you ice with buttercream icing and refrigerate, then drizzle with melted unsweetened Baker's chocolate all over the top, which makes an addictively crunchy-creamy candy-bar-like topping.

No one I've ever met has heard of it, and there are only 2 recipes coming up in Google, without comment. One specifically lists Wesson oil - so I'm thinking maybe this was a recipe on the back of a bottle in the 50's, or a send-away-for recipe, but I don't know.

Just curious if anyone else has had this, and if you have any more information on where it came from? It's so good!
