Healdsburg/Russian River Valley help

ljero | Feb 28, 200808:46 AM

I am traveling to Healdsburg (for the second time) with my husband for our anniversary (and have friends joining us later). We are staying one night at the Geyserville Inn and then three nights in Windsor. We are foodies from Chicago and need some great food recs and new vineyard recs, too--we like the vineyards that are smaller production with unique tastings, etc.

On last trip we went to: Santi, Farmhouse, John Ash & Co., and Taco Bell (yes, by the time we got around, all the restaurants were closed on our last visit). I have been thinking Willi's, Zazu, Zin...we like everything but prefer no French or American...also would like to dine in pretty outdoor setting one night if possible, or a vineyard, etc. something romantic, rustic or unique is preffer, with great food, of course. I don't think I want to do Cyrus this trip, as we want something a bit more laid back...

Also need some lunch spots/great picnic grounds.

We also need some new vineyards--last time, we did: Jordan, Bella (our favorite), Preston (to picnic and for the Sunday jug wine), Papapietro Perry (did not like the venue with the other wineries nearby, not on vineyards, etc.), J for the tasting/pairing, Arista, Hook & Ladder, Lynmar, Martinelli, J Swan. What are other interesting/great find vineyards? For instance, cool wine caves, great wines...we love pinots--really any reds--more than whites.

thank you!
