ok im just gonna throw my two cents in here.
hatfields is pretty awesome.
the menu has changed a bit from what is posted online.
they didnt have the striped bass entree but instead had a salmon (bummer...)
squab breast is substituted with a duck dish
the foie gras terrine is now without the rabbit loin.
i had the charred japanese octopus, the croque madam and the poached alaskan halibut. all the dishes were expertly prepared and i'll agree with most of the praise thats been going around. the poaching technique was on par with the fish courses on my recent meal at watergrill but had a more modern flair with the flavorings a la jean georges v.
my only moderate complaint was with the croque madame. the brioche was a little too heavy and overpowered the delicate flavor of the hamachi (not high particularly high grade hamachi i might add), which became more of a textural/ mouthfeel experience than one that imparted flavor.
ended dinner with beignets which were delicious.
