Late report . . . at the time Press offered happy hour on selected days. There was nothing on the website then, and I kind of doubted my local resident friend, but indeed it was available to us in the bar when we dropped by in September. Opentable currently shows a happy hour and bar prix fixe menu offered until 6:30pm Sunday, Monday, Wednesday, Thursday excluding holiday weekends.
The main draw for us was dollar oysters. The bivalves themselves were fine but I found the mignonette rather weak on shallots.
Of course we had to order the signature steak tartare too. A very good version made with a coarse dice the way I like it. A bit too heavy on the Rudd hot sauce in the balance, and I will ask for less next time.
And for our veggies, the plate of Rudd farm pickles had a nice assortment.
With Press as our second set of happy hour bites that day, we had no need for a dinner stop. Even with my back to the dining room, the open space was surprisingly noisy early on a week night. I was happier to be perched at the bar instead.
