Happiness in Montauk

Hello fellow chowers,

I did a search on this board for good eats in Montauk and had a wonderful 3 days out there as a result. So thank you all!
I went to O'Murphy's on the circle, and had a terrific fish and chips. The fish was excellent - fresh, well seasoned, and fried perfectly without any grease. In fact, I saved some of it in a fridge over night, and the next morning, it was still crisp straight out of the fridge! The only complaint that I have is that there was a fly that wouldn't leave me alone, and when I complained to the server, the poor girl looked helpless and shrugged. So I ate with one hand waving the fly away.
I also went to Embassy Cafe for some delicious Latin beef stew and beans and rice. I wondered why they only gave me a spoon till I realized that the beef was so tender that I could cut it up with the spoon.
Also went to John's Drive-In for a satisfying burger. I had the ice cream afterwards, but found it a little heavy for my taste. (Or perhaps I was just too stuffed from the burger...) Can't say I didn't enjoy it though.
Had tasty clams on the half-shell at Shagwong.
But the peak, peak experience, was riding my bike to Duryea's and treating myself to a lobster on the deck. The gentle sounds of waves coming to shore, the ocean breeze, the myriad stars emerging overhead and lobster juices all over my face, hands and arms - wow! I enjoyed the cole slaw that came with it as well.
Once again, thanks - this is such a great site.
