About two years ago, when I was last in Paris, a friend and I dined for lunch at the Astor. We both thought that it was not only a very good meal, but that it was also great value at about 50 Euros including a half bottle of wine per person and coffee. I think that, at the time, it was rated at 2 stars.
Were heading back to Paris in May and have been looking forward to repeating the experience. When I checked out the Michelin website, it appeared that both the stars have now gone. There was some brief correspondence on Chowhound a couple of months ago regarding the issue with some speculation as to reasons behind the demotion.
Does anyone have any information that may help me make a decision about whether to eat there next year?
