Haber's of Forest Hills

Warren | Jun 28, 2003 10:26 AM

Does anyone recall Haber's of Forest Hills, a glorified deli known as the Lindy's of Queens? It was located on Queens Boulevard at 75th Road and noted for club sandwiches named for Queens communities and apartment buildings, such as "The Kew Gardens," "The Jamaica," and "The Bedford." A Haber's menu on display in the current "New York Eats Out" at the 42nd Street Library in Manhattan is dated November, 1948. Haber's no longer exists, but I wonder when it closed.
