Ha Tien Grocery/Deli on Univ Av St. Paul

cecelia | Dec 1, 200304:59 PM

This deli in the back of the grocery store is the place I used to be able to get a chicken bahn mi on Univ. I guess they are no longer available.

This time I tried some of the dishes pre-made in the deli case. The noodle dishes looked like pad Thai and looked very similar to each other. One was shrimp and one pork. These were nothing special in taste but a very inexpensive lunch at $1/serving. The red colored chicken wings/legs were okay but not as spicy hot as I like.

However, the green beans with shrimp were wonderful. Keep in mind they were not spicy hot, but very flavorful and fresh tasting. Also a healthy and inexpensive meal when on the run.

This deli has many beautiful pre-made salads such as papaya salad, noodle salads with chicken or pork, spring rolls, etc, and also has the bbq chickens hanging up that look quite tasty.
