Guilty Pleasures

I'd like some tips for finding great eats in SF that I'd never think of on my own. Maybe something a little weird or idiosyncratic that you think is really wonderful but you fear others might scoff at.

Here's mine: I spent a couple of weeks trying every bakery in SF looking for the best chocolate chip cookies. I realized chocolate chip cookies were NECESSARY. I wanted to keep a stash of chocolate chip cookies on hand at all times. Like knowing you've got candles in the closet in case the lights go out.
I wanted bakery quality cookies, not Chips Ahoy or any crap like that. But those big chocolate chip cookies can get kind of pricey. Then I tried the Safeway bakery for the first time ever (I hate Safeway but $1# Barilla pasta on sale sucks me in every time, not to mention Kitty litter). Safeway has these delicious huge chocolate chip cookies that they bake on-site for $5 for 16 of them. And that's my guilty pleasure.
