The Gourmet Center in the upscale Zona Viva has a number of specialty food stores. The star is Superb Especias.
This is an attractive shop with floor to ceiling shelves of spices, teas and dried fruit. The website (see the restaurant record) lists hundreds of spices.
In a country that doesn’t favor spiced food, supermarkets carry at most 20 spices and sometimes less. The street markets have their unmarked burlap bags full of spices or fresh herbs, but they are pretty much limited to use for traditional cuisine.
I didn’t buy anything because I was overwhelmed by the variety. I said I will be back and, after having scanned the website, I will return soon. Everything looked fresh. No dusty bags. The dried fruit looked great and not like it had been sitting around forever.
The company has been selling spices and seeds since 1948.
They have a number of stores in Guatemala City, and some carry City of Paris products such as rillettes, pates, apple gallettes, etc.
