GTO in Massapequa, NY

GTO (the menu says this stands for Great Take Out) in Massapequa makes
a great grilled chicken sandwich. The have few variations, but the one
I like is the grilled chicken on a garlic twist with mozzeralla. The
chicken breasts are marinated and grilled over a charcoal fire. The
whole (1/2 or 1/4 also) chargrilled chickens are also worth checking
out, if you can get past the fact that they call them "hickory smoked."
They might be cooked over wood, but I don't taste any smokiness. Don't
let it stop you from enjoying them though. The whole chickens come
doused in bbq sauce (which may contain the above mentioned hickory
smoke), but I asked for the chickens without sauce (sauce on the side,
actually). I'm pretty sure this is the way to go, but if someone tries
the full sauce on version and feels differently please post about it.

They also make roasted lemon potatoes, that are awesome if they're just
baked, but not great if they've been sitting out and reheated. I
haven't figured out the trick to getting a fresh batch, yet, but
there's gotta be one. Despite the name, they do have some very informal
seating.
