Passing along this find from last weekend is what the Chowhound site is all about. On a tip from a co-worker, I went to check out a Greek place in Robbinsdale called Athens Cafe. Wedged between a gun shop and a Walgreen's in a Robbinsdale strip mall, and with pizza parlor decor, I was not expecting to find some of the best Greek food I have had in Minnesota.
The spinach pie was excellent, with a flaky phyllo crust. The kasseri cheese pie, off the menu, was equally as good. The dolmades were lemony, light, and warm (I have never used those three adjectives together before, but I consider them all good attributes for a stuffed grape leaf). The falafel was nicely spiced and not too heavy or fried. The chicken kebabs were well seasoned and tasted freshly char grilled. The hummus was also very good. All in all, a winner.
