Stopped by today to do some grocery shopping. Noticed that in the far corner on the left hand side, they now have a section offering roast meats, prepared food, and they have a bakery. The available roast meats were a bit skimpy. Some bbq pork strips, a soy sauce chicken, and a boiled chicken. Looks like a rough start.
The prepared foods weren't impressive either. Not fully stocked steam tables, and the grub seemed unappetizing. Not as good as Maxim in Rockville. The bakery had very few offerings also. People seemed a bit confused behind the counter.
They're working off the rough edges, so hopefully it'll be better in the future. They still have the most comprehensive array of chinese goods though, especially compared to the korean markets. The place was packed with mostly chinese and a few vietnamese. Definitely looks like they're taking all the chinese clientele away from the korean owned Grand Mart, Lotte, and Super H, especially with their much lower prices on produce, fruits, and fresh live seafood, amphibians, and reptiles.
