We were able to get away for a couple of days and head up to our condo at Huntington Lake to take the kids snowboarding at Sierra Summit. There really is only one restaurant in this area, aside from driving down to Shaver Lake and thank goodness it's a good one!
Dinners on Sunday night are served in the bar room, which is cozy with a wood stove. We brought along a bottle of our Engelmann Cellars Gravel Pit Syrah. We started with an appetizer of mozzarella sticks which are always wonderful, served with two sides of marinara and ranch diping sauces.
We usually do the "split plate" thing ($4) and decided on the prime rib. The dinners are served with fresh, crisp green salads that are always very good and warm, whole wheat bread served on a wood bread tray. Bread is always fresh and warm. We took the kids the rib dinner back to the condo which they both loved. No desserts, but they are always good. I like the cheesecake and the chocolate decadent torte.
We woke up the next morning to fresh, falling snow which was beautiful. Another great meal at the Lakeshore Lodge, this place never disappoints. www.lakeshoreresort.com Cheers! ***kim***
