GREAT Hamentaschen Dough -- From Whom?

Dev | Mar 14, 2006 09:31 PM

I've been making excellent hamentaschen for the last 2 days with really fantastic dough. I have cheated on the fillings so far (store bought apricot and poppyseed filling), including filling some with Nutella (not traditional but fantastic). I wanted to try the dough before I invested more time in making fillings.

I'd love to thank whoever posted the dough, but when I saved the recipe I didn't copy the poster's name, and can't seem to find it via google. I'm thinking it may have been a link to a blog? Here it is, paraphrased; maybe someone can claim it?

To paraphrase the recipe, it include 1 cup of butter, 1 1/4 cup sugar, 3 eggs, 1/4 cup orange juice, 2 1/2 tsp baking powder, 1 tsp lemon rind, 4 cups flour, 1/2 tsp salt and 1 1/2 tsp vanilla. After creaming the butter and sugar, the rest of the wet ingredients are added, then the dry ingredients folded in. The dough is chilled to firm, then quickly rolled out so it doesn't get too sticky again. And it makes delicious, subtly lemony cookies -- a wonderful component of mishloach manot.
