I didn't post looking for help, but I did peruse the board before a recent trip to the Boston area. We were visiting family and had only a few meals out, but enjoyed those we did thanks to your excellent dialogue.
We particularly enjoyed the seasonal menu at Prezza, in the North End. The roasted figs stuffed w gorgonzola and wrapped in bacon were excellent, the dandelion greens were an interesting riff on what otherwise would have been a caprese salad, the roasted corn raviolini were addictive, and the lobster dish, essentially lobster three ways, was delightful for us West coasters.
Dessert brought us to Modern Pastry, for the most addictive cannoli I've had. Not something we can find in San Francisco, so this was a treat. We also brought some candies with us, and the white chocolate-cashew turtles hit the perfect balance of salty and sweet, while the almond nougat dipped in dark chocolate delivered fantastic almond flavor.
Out in Newton Centre, Rosenfeld Bagels were great, and I'll be dreaming about their whitefish salad. We also enjoyed a non-traditional but still good banh mi, from a new place just down a sidestreet from Peet's coffee. Nice people, would return if in the area.
Out in Rockport, we escaped family for a brief foray to the Lobster Pool, where we enjoyed lobster at the picnic tables, although the clam strips were not the best. Wish we could have made it to the Clam Box or Essex Seafood, maybe next time...
Thanks again, we enjoyed your fabulous city and environs.
