Great Boston-area kosher

If you're in the Boston area, check out Zaatar's Oven at 242 Harvard Street, Brookline (617-731-OVEN). At lunch, it's great soups, salads, and flatbreads, pitas, and "sanbusaks" stuffed with delicious fillings -- all baked right there in an open hearth. Dinnertime there's also a terrific fish and vegetarian menu. Takeout and catering, too.

Yes, I'm associated with the restaurant, but here's a sample of what others have to say about it:

"Zaatar's Oven is hopping. This place is a trendsetter." Boston Globe

"What comes out of the oven is as terrific as it is unique." Tab newspapers

"Very fresh and exceptionally good tasting." Zagat

"During the bustling lunch hour, customers cluster around the display cases, ogling the flatbreads." NY Times
